Threaded CLE

Threaded inspires relationships, reconciliation and collaborative action among the diverse body of Christ. As part of a greater movement, Threaded CLE is driving this work forward in our city. We are partnering with churches and faith leaders to encourage Gospel-centered conversations about race which open pathways to understanding, healing and unity.

Why Threaded

John 12:20-21

“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.”

  • Threaded is a national, Gospel-based racial reconciliation, unity and community engagement organization that helps resource those who are expanding their work in and understanding of racial issues. Threaded CLE is putting Threaded’s resources into action in Cleveland building relationships and collaborative action among the diverse body of Christ within the city. Threaded is a stand-alone 501c3 nonprofit organization. Threaded CLE is an initiative of Bridge CLE. The two organizations are partnering together in mission but have no formal or legal ties to one another.

  • Threaded has produced an array of educational and engagement materials ranging from small group studies to the Colored Commentary podcast to customized coaching for organizations seeking to understand and expand cultural diversity. See wearethreaded.org for more information.

  • Since the fall of 2021 Threaded CLE has brought together 100 diverse people in multiple small groups to engage in a 10 week experience called “The Journey.” Participants were from different racial and ethnic groups, socio-economic backgrounds and parts of the city (urban/suburban and east/west). They regularly share stories of the positive experience they had, the relationships they formed and the hope they gained.

A number of the participants were from New Life at Calvary, a traditionally urban black church on Cleveland’s eastside, and Bay Presbyterian, a traditionally suburban white church on the city’s westside. Threaded CLE is continuing to encourage similar connections among diverse churches and organizations across the city.

  • Threaded and Threaded CLE both regularly offer opportunities for participants to join a group and go through “The Journey” curriculum. Each also offers training for group co-facilitators. Once certified, co-facilitators are able to launch groups in their homes or churches. Threaded CLE offers local coaching, support and connections to help co-facilitators start a diverse group in their community. Email threadedcle@bridgecle.org for more info.
